About
Fifteen years of making things by hand, then finishing them in Adobe.
Lionel Lynner is a Portland-based graphic designer working across brand identity, web design, social media design and photography.
My approach starts with a conversation before developing solutions tailored to each client's needs. Every project moves through the same five steps: meet, research and establish goals, explore rough concepts, build on the vision, and produce the solution.
My work draws on hands-on, rudimentary tools alongside the industry-standard Adobe Creative Cloud: aerosol paint and letterpress type sit next to a laptop, and both show up in the finished brands.
I've always been drawn to art, design, nature, and learning, and Portland is where all four meet for me. It reminds me of ikigai, often drawn as the place where four things overlap: what you love, what you're good at, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for. This studio is my version of that.
